Appeals
Our experience allows us to make the shift from trial to appellate practice seamlessly. We bring an in-it-to-win-it mindset that has resulted in successes for both appellants and appellees. We are prepared to defend the positive results we achieve, including interlocutory appeals. In the face of adverse decisions, we persevere to obtain the best result for our clients, sometimes shaping the law in the process.
The following cases demonstrate the variety of successful appeals we have obtained for our clients.

- City of Sunny Isles Beach v. Publix Supermarkets, 88 So. 3d 224 (Fla. 3d DCA 2011) (quashing lower court’s finding that a city commission’s decision violated a high rise developer’s due process rights)

Our appellate practice also includes matters that were originally handled by another firm at the trial court level. We can work with trial counsel or co-counsel with another firm. If a company or individual has experienced an unfavorable result in a trial court, we are prepared to offer advice and new representation at the post-trial motion stage as well. Engagement at this point often provides an excellent opportunity to shape issues that may be important to an appeal.
We can also draft amicus briefs in connection with important cases that might impact our clients’ businesses or other interests.
